Southborough Cricket Club News story

...as we move to the end of the season.

28 Aug 2016

We have one weekend of games left this season which take place next Saturday 3rd September. The second's need four points to secure their place in Division 6 and the first’s could do with a morale boosting win. We'll be looking to select sides tomorrow evening so please update your availability - it will be your last chance to play for the Club this year!!

Following the games on Saturday, we will be heading off for a curry. I am still to book the table as I have received a disappointing response thus far to the previous e-mail. From speaking with people on Saturday I know there is interest, so please reply to this e-mail confirming your attendance. Those so far who've put their hand up are as follows:

David Smith

Steve Smith,

Chris Holder

Hassan Hadi

Phil Davis

Alex McDougall

Danny Coombs

Jamie Brown

Adrian Jennings

Jack Matthews

The following Saturday, from 10am, we have the end of season work party. This is an important event where we put away all the equipment used during the season, dispose of the equipment we haven’t used (and been tripping over) and wheel the net back over the A26 to Meadow’s School. We also clean all the communal areas then start making a list of what we need to replace or introduce to make life that much easier next year. We have more to put away this year with the netting system we put in last year, which has made a significant time saving for each and everyone of you on match days, so please come along and help put it away – you’ve all benefitted from the improvements it’s brought.

Finally, another reminder that the Club Awards’ Dinner is on the 16th September. The Social Secretary has sent out the invitations.  Please don’t leave it to the last minute to get your menu choices and payment in. This year we’ve listened to your views on how to make it bigger and better so please come along and support it to make it a fun evening celebrating and partying with friends.
