I'm pleased to announce that Southborough Cricket Club has been accepted to be an All Stars Cricket centre. To help support this programme, we are looking for volunteers to become Activators and also general volunteers.
Activators will be responsible for delivering the programme. I myself am down as the lead Activator so will handle the admin side of things but would appreciate some support from other Activators in running the sessions.
General volunteers will help set up and will also play a role in the sessions, again to help spread the load and support those delivering them.
If you are wanting to help please get in contact with me. For those that want to volunteer to be an Activator, please let me know by next Monday so that you can be registered to receive the training package.
Our sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings between 5:30 and 6:30. The first session starts on 23 May and the programme runs for 8 weeks. To be an Activator, you have to be over 18 and will be required to have a DBS check. Those under 18 can still volunteer to help, so please don't be put off by this. This opportunity is open to all people associated with the club: playing members, friends, parents of juniors. So if you are interested in this fantastic opportunity, please get involved by replying to this email
Background:
All Stars Cricket is an ECB initiative with the aim of getting more 5-8 year olds playing cricket across the country.
Billed as the future of junior cricket, All Stars Cricket is a nationwide programme developed by the ECB and the Elite Coach Development team that aims to inspire 5-8 year olds to take up cricket and join their local cricket clubs.
The programme will enable children to acquire the skills to play the game and connect them to the heroes of English cricket. The ECB provides our club with everything we need to deliver a unique experience for kids and their parents.
Happy to provide more information on the scheme, including a copy of the presentation we received at a recent event. I really believe in this programme and hope that you will too and that as a club we provide the necessary support that in time we benefit by increasing our membership and numbers involved in cricket.
