With the clock changes and spring in the air, it's time to prepare the pavilion and grounds for the coming season.
This Saturday we will be holding a work party up on the Common from 8am. There are many tasks that need to be completed from wheeling the batting cage over from Meadow's School, through to painting anything that stays still for too long!!
A general outline of the day (timings are approximate):
8am - clean kitchen area/wash down verandah shutters/start painting indoors/wash shower area
9am - first tip run/rake twigs, leaves and moss from under the two Oaks
10am - move batting cage over from Meadow's School (need between 8-10 people to move it easily)
11am - paint pavilion inside and out
2pm - hopefully we can finish and if anyone's up for it, retire to the Hand & Sceptre for a well earned drink!!
As ever, the more volunteers that turn up, the less time it will take, so hopefully people will give the club that spare hour or two they have available to contribute to making the pavilion and grounds looking as best as they can.
There is talk of bacon butties early in the day and the tea urn will be on for refreshments, so hopefully these things along with the thought of helping out the club will inspire people to turn out
See you Saturday,
David
