Community Day: Club Family Day & Junior Awards (18 September)

28 Aug 2022

Following on from the success of last year's Community Day & Junior Awards event, we are back and aiming for something bigger and better as we come together as one Club to celebrate the season and support our juniors, so please put this event in your diary and come along and support it.

This is a family focused event, so we will be increasing the entertainment on offer for children (there's talk of an inflatable assault course, as well as a bouncy castle) and all the cricket played will be with a softball so no need to worry about a hard leather ball being smacked about.

We are hoping for a strong turnout from our juniors and their families and also from our seniors and women's section.

There will be food and drink on the day, with a bbq and bar.

As part of the event, we are raising funds and have a raffle. Raffle books are up at the Club, so please take some and sell them to your families, neighbours or anyone you can convince to buy to support us and our charity for this year, which is Southborough SOS - volunteers that do a fantastic job making Southborough litter free and the high street welcoming by looking after various flower displays. We are currently asking for donations for the raffle, but so far includes the £100 cash prize, gift vouchers for the Cricket Shop, free junior membership for 2023 season, free senior membership for the 2023 season, and a cuddly toy!! If you know anyone that would like to donate prizes, please do let me know.

As always, we will need help on the day: for the senior playing members, your captains will shortly be coming out to you with rota's so would ask that you put yourself down for a slot to help out. The more that help, the less each of you will have to do.
