Chair’s update

A very brief update as we near the end of the season, to bring you up to date with some important events that are coming up shortly.

The season has two weeks of play remaining, with men’s league games concluding this weekend, our Under 10 girls playing in a softball tournament on Sunday and then friendlies involving the men’s and women’s sides taking us through to Sunday 15 September.

In amongst that, tomorrow evening sees us host the Junior Presentation Evening up at the Club where we highlight individual and team performances across the season, before we do likewise for the senior sides, at the Annual Awards evening on 4 October at the Old Auction House.

To this weekend, please try to pop along to support the teams: the 1st XI (playing at home) needs to win to remain in their Division; the 2nd XI are playing away at local neighbours Bidborough and require 10 points to win the division; due to strong availability we have a 3rd XI playing away at Locksbottom; and, the U10 girls are playing at the Nevill On Sunday with matches going on all day.

End of Season Work Party (Saturday 21 September - from 9am)

There's a little bit of work required to put the pavilion to bed for the winter, with the boundary net system to be taken down and the roller cage moved back over the road to Meadow's School (and a general tidy away and clear out/re-uniting of kit and equipment with their owners).

It should only take a few hours in total, but if we have eight people there at about 9, we can quickly get the net over the road (which is the main thing we need numbers for). Please pop along and help out.

Club Dinner

Reminder that the Annual Awards Dinner will take place this year at the Old Auction House on Friday 4 October, from 6.30pm.

You should have received information, but if you require it to be re-sent or want further information, please contact the Club’s Social Secretary, reuben793@outlook.com

Recent draw winners:

July – Simon Fisher (71)

We have 36 squares available to buy at the moment - each square costs £24 per year (or £2 per month) and there is a monthly draw where the winner takes away £100, with an extra draw at the dinner. Any proceeds from this scheme are re-invested in improvements for the Club’s membership.

If you are interested in playing a square, please contact the 150 Club organiser, Phil Davis (philcodavis@gmail.com).
