About us

Our aim is to ensure all children who take part in Cricket, have a safe, positive and fun experience, whatever their level of involvement. To ensure all children have access to all opportunities, the club are able to provide kit to be used during our training sessions. If your child is interested in purchasing their own kit, Kent Cricket Direct have a large range of equipment to buy.  Participation is also important to us and we will try to ensure that every child is given opportunities to play in matches, if they so wish.

The Club is entirely run by volunteers and although we have a healthy number currently; we are always looking for offers of help and will support those that want to achieve any coaching qualifications.  We hope that you feel welcomed to the Club and feel able to become involved in whatever capacity, be it coaching, admin or helping otherwise – there’s always things that need to be done. Also, we will always have a qualified first aider at each session so if an incident was to occur, someone would be able to deal with incident promptly and correctly.

Safeguarding

We continue to work towards our Clubmark Club status and adhere to the ‘Safe Hands’ Policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket. All adults at the Club who work with children and meet the necessary criteria are vetted by the ECB. This includes the enhanced DBS and ‘Barred List’ check (formerly known as CRB checks). ‘Safe hands’, ECB’s Policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket, is available to view online at www.ecb/safehands, or a copy is available at the Club House.

Whilst we hope your child will be happy and content at the club, we understand that sometimes questions, concerns or difficulties may arise. We encourage you to raise these as soon as possible with either the coaches or junior coordinator or if it’s of a safeguarding nature, one of the Club’s Safeguarding Officers, so we can address any concerns at the earliest opportunity.

Club Safeguarding Officer: Hamish Robertson (TBC)

We do hope that you and your child(ren) enjoy being a member of the Southborough Cricket Club.

Yours sincerely

Stefan Taylor, Junior Cricket Co-ordinator
